Anger Unaware

Angry!

Angry!

ANGRY!

Always  portraying anger, even when life shows joy, you always seem to know gloom; no one seems to understand why, nevertheless, some have tried once or twice, only o be rejected in some small way yet it may have been just enough to push them away and for them to give up believing you'd come to see the world in a better light.

Old Miller Road

I lived on Old Miller’s road, my family and I, just about a year ago moved there. My house was the only one with bright flowers shrubs that looked quite neat and very green and well kept. The neighbourhood was always quiet and gloomy. On the left side, two blocks down from my house was a mansion but it looked abandoned and very old and it was as if it was the main cause of the gloomy nature of the street.
I came home from school at seven o’clock one Friday afternoon, no one was there, so I called some school friends who were Marley, Jake, Sonia, Kyle and Moor. ”My parents are out of town for the weekend so we should have enough time to all the fun we want.” I said truly excited  about spending time with the coolest people in school, well at least i thought they were.
7:45pm  everyone came over and we ordered pizza and Chinese food, we watched movies and ate till is was nine forty five.  Moor decided he'd take the lead of the night's proceedings when  everyone got bored. " turn the lights of you guys it time for spooky stories", Moor commanded. Everyone knows about Old Miller's Mansion, its a ghastly place and  no one ever goes in, or comes out, our parents told us not to go there, and there were rumours about it." Miller the evil half man kills all who venture near his land, he killed his wife and sixty kids from the school, they went in the front door, and their bodies were thrown out the back." Moor went on and on about it.

Sonia screamed, when she heard footsteps upstairs. Everyone fell silent listening to hear the footsteps continue their slow march but there were none. We all bundled up together back to back, watching, everywhere.
The flashlights in our hands flickered nervously around every corner of the room.
Nothing, Nothing behind the door, nothing under the dinning table, nothing on the staircase, nothing in the hall.
Then a thought  popped in to my head, we forgot, to look, I flashed the light toward the ceiling of the roof,  and glimpsed the chalky white skin and the fanged teeth and worse yet, the eyes, the eyes that told you, you're going to die.
He was gone, but i kept my light fixed on the spot i had seen him Old man Miller.
I felt something on my right arm, I turn the light to Marley, who had been sitting there, i hadn't realised she'd stopped shaking until now. Her head was bent, her flashlight aimlessly rolled away from her too far to retrieve, i could have sworn she'd fainted until i saw the dark, shiny, thick liquid slowly tracing the tile's outline. Without thinking i touched it with a finger and smelt it. Blood.

Sonia realised the same time I did. Marley was dead. She jumped up and ran for the front door Kyle tried to stop her but, Moor was the one who ran after her, she didn't get to the front door I heard her ribs crack with the force of the blow i knew the other heard it as well, Moor saw Miller coming and tried to run back but managed to get as far as the dinning table. I saw the chalky hand emerge from under Moor's T-shirt then he fell . Dead. Kyle couldn't take sitting and waiting to be killed, because it was only three of us left.  Jake and Kyle said they'd distract him while i got out of the house in to the street but Kyle said he'd  handle this on his own, with the more reassuring smile, which scared me.

He pushed Jake toward me," Go on get out of here man, make sure and take care of my lil' sis you hear or I'm gonna haunt you,", he gave me the usual bear hug but it was short and intense I remembered how much I hated him calling me my lil' sis because we weren't related but now I regret hating it at all.

The foot steps cam quickly this time, Kyle pushed us out  of the way telling us to run, he got the baseball bat out of his bag that was on the floor next to the sofa where we were sitting while watching the movie.
Jake made sure I got out the back door before turning, and running back inside, yelling to Kyle that he was going to save him.

"JAKE!" I screamed, Jake was the type who never left anyone behind, this time there was no one behind everyone was dead, the entire step was dead.

Miller step outside, staring at me with those dead set scary eyes, and smiled, he began running toward me but I couldn't move, I couldn't breathe. The only thing I could do was scream.
But the scream sounded different, I felt the sharp pain as I saw his hand aim for my chest the way he killed Moor...

All I could think was it's my fault they all died because I invited them to die.

Then there was nothing...

I heard my name softly, Jane, Jane, JANE.
But how, my mother isn't dead how could she call me did Miller kill them as well?

Then I opened my eyes and saw my mother standing over me with a worried look." Jane are you alright?, why are your screaming?"
"mom? Mom? am I dead?"
I heard the laughter ...
" Yes your dead Janie, we all are" Moor laughed at me teasingly. "Mother always said going to sleep with a full stomach gives you nightmares." Sonia said sarcastically with a pleasant smile. I felt like and idiot afterward. I told my parents about the dream, and they laughed at me too. But I still think it was the best night ever, who wouldn't want to live on OLD MILLER ROAD.
